Day 103


Today we drove to Nambucca Heads with our camper (Rosie), to see the Sydney Travelling Film Festival at Bowraville. When we arrived we went to Woollies and bought an assortment of anti-pasto foods while there.

LUNCH: pork brawn, cheese and lettuce sandwiches.

DINNER: in the car at Bowraville just before the first movie...pork pies and salad. We had wine and nibblies at the theatre between movies.

Day 102


DINNER: Half honey/mustard chicken on BBQ with cous cous.. (spinach, tomato ,parsley, coriander, mint, sultanas ,flaked almonds, cucumber ,lemon juice, olive oil and Moroccan seasoning).

Day 101


DINNER: Pizza...caramelised onion, garlic and capsicum, olives, cold lamb from roast, cold chicken from kebabs, Philly Cheese dobs, grated cheese, on Baker's Delight Pizza Base.

Day 100


DINNER: Honey-mustard chicken kebabs and rice with tomato, cucumber and avocado.

Day 99

MAINLY MUSIC: Florentines...double quantity, some for Mainly Music and some for home....4 cups cornflakes (wholemeal), 1 pk glace cherrries, 1 pk glace ginger, 1 pk slithered almonds,1 can condensed milk, 1 cup chopped apricots. Bake about 10 mins at 190c.
DINNER: Greek lamb in BBQ with roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

Day 98


DINNER: Lasagne and salad.

DINNER: Chicken rolls with spinach and pine nuts. I used frozen flakey pastry for this. Into the chicken mince I put chopped spinach leaves that were chopped and wilted in hot water, coriander, parsley, finely chopped onion, salt and pepper. Before baking, the rolls were slashed on the top and brushed with beaten egg and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.

Day 95




LUNCH: Today we bought fresh king prawns and fish from the seafood man who goes to the carpark of the Jacaranda Hotel every Friday. So, for lunch we had fresh bread rolls with prawns, lettuce, thousand island dressing and garnished with dill (from our garden).

DINNER: Fish with polenta and veges.

Day 94


DINNER: Half chicken in BBQ with mashed potato, cauliflower au gratin with dill, and beans.

Day 93


Today we went to the movies at Yamba, and had our own mini film festival. We saw Mao's Last Dancer, Julie and Julia and Charlie and Boots. For lunch we had a quick sandwich and coffee out of the picnic basket in the cinema carpark. Afternoon tea was included at the movies as a fundraiser, so we had a quick and easy dinner....frozen hash browns and prawns with salad.

Day 92


DINNER: Butternut Pumpkin filled with Chicken and Mushroom Macaroni. To make this dish, I firstly halved the pumpkin, scooped out the seeds, added chopped capsicum and garlic with olive oil and baked it till soft. While it was baking, I cooked the chicken and mushroom creamy sauce and the macaroni. The cooked macaroni and sauce was spooned into the pumpkin with cheese on the top.

Day 91


MAINLY MUSIC: Honey Jumbles (Recipe card 6- Cookies and Biscuits- Great Australian Home Baking)

DINNER: Tex-Mex Soup with Cold Lamb salad.

Day 90


DINNER: Tex-Mex Soup with French bread....Fry off onion, garlic, capsicum and carrot. Add can chopped tomatoes, can of cannelini beans, sliced cabanossi, chopped parsley and coriander,chilli powder(hot, home-made), salt and pepper.

Day 88 and 89


DINNER: Chicken kebabs with rice and peas, tomato and banana slices.
Today I did the next step for the mulberry wine. Unfortunately the photo is sideways...I didn't rotate it on the other computer, and the disc is a read only file.
Glenn and Margaret came today. They were in Coffs celebrating their 29th anniversary. I made 6 cup slice for afternoon tea, and Roast boned lamb and roasted veges (Mediterranean style) for dinner.

Day 87


DINNER: tonight we had left-over risssoles with fried rice. For the rice, I fried the onions, capsicum and pumpkin cubes, added it to the cooked rice with tarragon, mint, coriander, salt and soy sauce.

Day 86


Today I started making mulberry wine using the bucketful of mulberrries I picked at Wally. The recipe came from "Home made Wines and Drinks", p.25.

DINNER: Rissoles and veges. I mixed the onion, mint, parsley, coriander, home-made tomato sauce in the blender, then added to the mince along with some breadcrumbs...they were then shallow-fried in olive oil. The veges were mashed potato and sweet potato with chives and mint, plus broccoli, broad beans and zucchini.

Day 85


DINNER: Fish pieces with green salad, asparagus and pull-apart bread.

Day 84




DINNER: Baked potato with sour cream, fried onions, bacon, eggs, tomato and avocado.
Dessert- mulberry cobbler with cream.

Day 83


Today we went for a drive up to Stanthorpe and checked out a couple of antique shops. We had yummy pies for lunch at Vincenzo's at Stanthorpe.

DINNER: Salmon pasta bake with roasted vegetables.

Day 82


For lunch we bought foccacia from Hanks, with chicken, avocado, cranberry and salad, on our way up to Wally with Bryan, Kathy and Joe.

DINNER: Roast lamb with rosemary, garlic and lemon, with baked potatoes, kumara, snow peas (Bryan grew them!) and gravy. For dessert we had mulberry cobbler with custard. The mulberries were picked at Wally.

Day 81




LUNCH: Prawns and salad rolls.


DINNER: Baked salmon with cous cous....Salmon was baked in foil....the cous cous had spinach, parsley, tomato, olive oil, Moroccan seasoning, sultanas and flaked almonds.

Day 78, 79 and 80

DINNER: T-bones on BBQ with mashed potato and kumara, broad beans and zucchini.
The next night we had dinner at Victoria's following the auction for Kent Street.
The following day, Bryan and Kathy arrived to spend a few days. We had Boscaiola with chicken, mushrooms, bacon and fettuccine.
